The Concussive Winds technique blends mind-bending elements of freestyle and performance-based martial arts with devastating attacks from traditional forms. It takes an innovative approach to the art in which anything is possible with the staff. It’s a growing technique, and we expect to see many new innovative moves as the creator pushes to further develop his skill.

Note that some video descriptions are creative and include fictional references, you can not actually crack open time and create a parodox using these techniques… alone..

Wood

Wooden staffs are usually more heavy grade for impact-based training, building muscle and striking technique, or actual combat.

COMPETITIVE/
GRAPHITE

Competitive and Graphite staffs are lightweight and easy to handle for maximum speed and impressive tricks.

METAL

Metal staffs carry bone-crushing power and added weight for more intense workouts. They are also great for refining your form. Here are a few well designed metal staffs.

Golden Rule!

The sharing of this art is only for the betterment of your style and well being, IT IS NOT INTENDED TO HURT ANYONE. Actual combat is a last resort, and should only be used if there are no other options. The only victorios fight is the on avoided by using your greatest weapon, your mind.

Stretching and Warm Up

Respect your body and it will be your greatest weapon. Stretch and warm up so you can get into the flow!

Spacial Awareness

Being aware of your surroundings is key. It can be used in your favor, or restrict your movement.

Control Points

Learn how to maintain control of your staff through understanding how and where you can hold it.

Momentum

Amplify your striking power by learning how to weild the power of momentum.

3-Kings is a foundational grip that seperates your staff into 3 sections, prividing a gripable area and two striking ends.

The Claw Grip

The Claw Grip allows you to be fliexible but firm. It allows a wide range of motion and flixibility, while maintaining control.

Strikes

A fundamental strike that delivers a quick but powerful blow.

One of the most devastating strikes you can do with a staff, amplifying your striking power to over a thousand pounds of force. 

Double Tap

Two quick strikes that can build into endless combos.

Lightning Strikes

Send two additional strike at warp speed towards your opponent as you build your combo.

Guardian | Shield Wall | Power Twist

Categories

Propellor Spin

When done with speed the propellor spin can be one of the coolest moves a staff weilder can do. In ancient times this was used to deflect arrows. It can be a fun technique to use and in combat can mask an attack by confusing the opponent.

Advance Propellor Spin

Take your spin to the the next level with this spin. Kick it into overdrive, and push the speeed limit as you master this technique!

Cut through the wind and push opponents back with the figure 8 spin!

Category 5

There is a storm coming and you are the center of it. The Category 5 spin creates a vortex of wind as you move the staff all the way around your bodiy in one fluid motion

Outer Bands

Take the Cotegory 5 spin ever further by adding in the outer bands and creating some additional flare. 

Palm Spin

is that a flying saucer? Distructo Disk? No, just an epic palm spin! This is one of my all time favorit move to do. It’s incredible simple but hard to master.

Infinity Wave

Combine the figure 8 and the hand roll to create a wave of spectacle around you. 

Passes

Passes move the staff from one hand to the other. Mastering this is critical to maintain control throughout your flow!

Hand Roll | Neck Roll | Neck Wrap | Behind the Back Pass | Rings of Saturn

The Hand Roll

The hand roll uses momentum to roll the staff across the back of your hand. It can build into many combos and is the basis of a lot of advance spins

Neck Roll

Take your passes to the horizontal plane around your neck with this foundational pass.

Neck Wrap

Level up your neck roll and add a whole new starting point with the neck wrap.

Behind the Back Pass

A simple but essensial move to learn and incorporate into your flow the behind the back pass adds flare and rotation to your transitions.

Rings of Saturn

Learn the mind bending move that sends your staff orbiting your body and neck.

Throws
